NEW update!

Ok...so they have now cleared Dec. 15th! This is great news because we are now even closer to seeing our Gracie!

Many in our Yahoo group have gotten their referrals now.

We had a fun weekend baby sitting two girls who were also adopted from China. What a treat...and great practice too. We look forward to baby sitting them again.
The younger one was even calling me dad some of the time...what a feeling hearing that!

Anyway, we are praying for a Feb. referral which means we will travel in March or April.

Keep the faith...we are getting closer :)

UPDATING:

Not much new to report.

A number of families in our Yahoo group have received matches and should be traveling to China and back by Christmas! This is so exciting and encouraging especially because we are that much closer.

CCAA has cleared through 12/08. This could mean that we will get a referral as early as Feb.

We had Thanksgiving with our good friends who have a 3 year old daughter who is our God daughter. They are by all accounts our family and so very thankful to have them in our lives. Their daughter is already saying that when Grace comes they can be sisters!

Update?

OK...so there really is nothing new to report.

The adoption is still going through. China has cleared November 2005 :)
This means next month (November 2007) China will be matching log in dates for Dec. 2005.

They seem to be matching 3 to 5 days per month. Our LID is 12/30/05 so we don't expect a match until sometime maybe April but we are praying for Feb.

NOV 25th!!!!!!!!

I don't know why things are going sooo slow!

It's not very encouraging :(

CCAA has referrals through Nov 25Th of 2005. Let's do the math shall we?

4 days per month (hopefully is speeds up) we will get our referral in June 2008 and travel to China in August...during the Olympics!

Please pray that things speed up...please!

AHHHHH!!!!!!!

Slowly moving forward :)

CCAI just announced the next batch of referrals to come through.

The cut off is 11/21. For those of you keeping score at home, that is 7 days of referrals per month. If the referrals come through at this pace, we will get a referral in Feb. 2008.

I hope they speed up! There is still much to do before we travel to China but at the same time I hope that it is this year that we get our referral.

Keep the faith!

Next batch is in!

OK, the next batch of referrals is in. CCAA has cleared through 11/14/05.
Our LID is 12/30/05. At the rate of 7 days per month, this would mean we will not get a referral until Feb 2008 and traveling in March or April. That will make it just over 3 years of waiting for Grace. But it's getting closer!

We just have to be patient.

On a happy note. Some friends in our play group just came back with their second daughter! They have a blog as well and we have been following them on their journey. Here is the link for you to read and enjoy.

It's a good example of what we have to look forward to.

Still Waiting

My arm is much better although it still hurts a bit in the mornings. I had an MRI and my doctor was reviewing the results. They wanted to schedule a appointment to go over the MRI and talk about some suggestions for treatment but I think they just want more money. As long as I keep moving it I think I will be fine. It's just going to take a while for it to heal.

Anyway, enough about that boring stuff.
Today our good friends gave us our God daughters' crib as she has a "big girl" bed now. It's very kind of them. We are very blessed to have them in our lives. After 8 years, they have become our family.

Ok...so we are still waiting. I know I was not going to view the RQ web site, but I can't help it. The only difference is I don't take what they say to heart because the truth is...they don't know anything...they are just guessing! The next update for referrals should be coming next week. I hope it's a larger group.

Our Peach Tree

Here is our peach tree in the backyard. It only gives fruit once a year but we get hundreds of them. The squirrels like them. I can bet that Grace will love picking them too!

Grand Canyon

These are some photos from our recent trip to the Grand Canyon. It was great! It even snowed a little while we were there!

Nov. 7th LID's

Ok, so the rumor web site was wrong. What a shocker. I have to admit that I bought into the rumor with all the excitement of Christmas morning. I guess that goes to prove that rumors are just that.

Public service announcement:
"Rumors are bad for you...quit now!"

Based on this last match group of only 6 days-per-month, this could mean we might not get a refferal until March '08! I hope this is not the case.

Things could speed up and I pray that they do.

At the same time, I am happy for all of those "new" families who have received their refferals. I know out daughter is coming. It's not a matter of "if" but "when." Even if "when" is not when we hoped for.

130 DAYS TO GRACE!

The reports are saying that the next match group should be large...maybe through mid November!
This means that we should get our referal in Sept. with the possiblity of traveling in late Oct. or early Nov.

It's a good thing we are not traveling sooner as I hurt my left arm in class Tuesday night. My arm is in a sling and brace. It's not broken from what the x-rays show but it still hurts a lot. I will have some follow-up x-rays next week to look for any hair line fractures in the arm or elbow. Phuong has been great about helping me...she is going to be a great mom!

Went to the doctor yesterday.

I can get the shots for travel to China from my doctor. He said that all I need is the Hepatitis A shot. He thinks that I already had the B shot but he will check when I go back in a few months. He does not recommend the Typhoid since we are not, as he put it, "staying on a farm."

Phuong was also happy that she will not need to many shots.

146 DAYS UNTIL GRACE!

At least that is Phuong's estimate.

I made an appointment yesterday to see my doctor about getting the shots we need for traveling. Some friends of ours who have also adopted from China were kind enough to supply us with the lists of shots they received before traveling.

Some of these are:
Hepatitis A & B
Polio
Typhoid
Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR)

It's all for a good cause!

Our Amazing Gracie

Welcome to our first blog!

We will be using this site to update friends and family on our journey to Grace.
